What are they offering
For your heart of gold
Dredged from a dirty river bed
Polished up and sold
Why should you take
Their shabby throne
In some corrupted kingdom
Where you will rule alone
And trade your heritage for something counterfeit
You don’t have to accept it
No, don’t give in, they will not win
Look again, it’s paper thin
It’s so see-through
So see through
Sirens who lure you onward
Keep your hopes afloat
As soon as land slips out of view
They hole your boat
Then when you think you’re sinking
Below the waves
A voice says, “Climb on board,
Those of you who want to be saved!”
Well, life’s perilous, you swim with the predators
Seems like they’re all out to get us
No, don’t give in, they will not win
Look again, it’s paper thin
It’s so see-through
So see through
It’s nothing like the truth
It’s so see-through
You can see through the sleight of hand and the lies
The tricks that they use to make you comply
All they can do is hide in full view
All they can do is hope you don’t see through
Don’t give in, they will not win
Look again, it’s paper thin
It’s so see-through
So see through
It’s nothing like the truth
It’s so see-through
Chain Cult is, out of all genres, the 21st century band I'm most excited to hear new stuff from. I'm not a music critic, but I REALLY love music. And this is good music. Isolated is at the very top of my "Most Often Played" playlist. Waiting for the "merch" tab to open up on their page. MartinezLucas
